Of Montreal Nasdaq Commercial
Posted by admin
Of Montreal song (”Every Day Feels Like Sunday” from the Sunlandic Twins Bonus EP) on a Nasdaq commercial. I understand they’re using the cash to pay for an amazing stage show.

I think your rage …
I think your rage has confused you.
I’m not seeing in my comment where I stood up for NASDAQ. But on the other hand, I don’t really care how much THEY lost you, especially when i’m sure it wasn’t “them” really, as a collective.
I suppose you should just get over it?
I love of montreal …
I love of montreal but I DESPISE NASDAQ. they’ve lost me thousands of dollars and how DARE you stick up for them. I hate hipsters. what the do you suppose i do about this situation?
(i’m adding to my …
(i’m adding to my previous comment)
most people won’t even care who sings the song, only people who truly like their kind of music will care and know that the ad is by of montreal, they arent gonna become the next “maintstream” hit, their music hasn’t changed
the band just needs money, and some listeners out there who wouldn’t have found them any other way
although i hate outback’s choice of lyrics on “wraith”, it doesn’t make any sense haha
i’m a fan of the …
i’m a fan of the band
but i don’t feel that the music fits properly with the action of the commerical,
however i think its fun when someone asks me who they are if they see it on my ipod and i answer “they are the band from the outback commercial” chances are, they won’t go research them, or care(even though thats what i did, i heard the jingle and immediately found them)
they need the money
It’s one thing for …
It’s one thing for a band to let people use their music for commercials, I understand like this but if from The Dead Kennedys or Tay Zonday. Then no, the songs have real political meanings and should be kept like it.
whoa damn…I was …
whoa damn…I was pretty heated hahaha…
If Nasdaq offered …
If Nasdaq offered me a good amount of money to allow the use of my song in a commercial, i’d let them.
I don’t give a what my indie hipster fans think abou it.
If you stop listening to a band because other people listen, then you’re listening to music FOR THE WRONG REASONS.
I don’t know why …
I don’t know why people are so upset over this. These guys deserve to make a living off the great music they write. It’s selfish to want that music to only be available to you & your indie friends. My friends and I have been fans for years, and we’re glad they’re finally getting some dollars from being such a great band. It’s their decision to market themselves.
Funny))
Funny))
I love when they …
I love when they add these fun songs.
i don’t think it’s meant to be funny with the song, more fun and relaxed…. kind of like what lucybanana needs to be more like.
you indie are …
you indie are retarded…if you don’t understand that it is just FUNNY to have Of Montreal’s music in random advertisements than you have no sense of humor whatsoever…
C’mon.
Its a shame, Of …
Its a shame, Of montreal is awesome.
Fuck off and read …
off and read No Logo again and cry into your Amnesiac bedspread. Kevin Barnes had NO MONEY.
fame doesn’t last …
fame doesn’t last forever. might as well milk it for what it’s worth. gotta live the rest of your life.
kevin didn’t write …
kevin didn’t write it, someone else wrote it and they paid them to use the likness.
Kevin wrote that… …
Kevin wrote that… it’s his prerogative what he does with his music, and I support him.
Get the over …
Get the over it! It’s not like they belong to some big record company now and even if they did, who cares if one of their songs is featured in a commercial? They have way more songs which I even dare say are better than this. This commercial is forgettable, their songs in general aren’t. If you have such a big problem with them being “sell-outs” then stop listening to them. Oh and stopping the whinnying would be appreciated too.
Everyday we …
Everyday we sell-out baby….
Sorry, but it’s not like Of Montreal were starving to death. I’m not sure which is more sad, shilling for a bunch of Reaganite bankers or for an upscale McDonalds. It’s not even so much the advertising itself, it’s whom they’re advertising *for.*
I don’t think the …
I don’t think the indie kids are too concerned about breaking down intellectual property barriers!
At least they …
At least they didn’t butcher it as much as the Outback commerical.
Let’s go Outback tonight/Life will still be there tomorrow..???
I mean, come on.
If I had a child …
If I had a child and then someone offered me a bunch of money to use a song in an ad, I’d say yes. If it annoyed a bunch of indie dicks in the process, then A all round.
hmmm Of Montreal is …
hmmm Of Montreal is amazing… this commercial…not so much … hahaha anyway Of montreal is the best indie band out there. it used to be modest mouse untill they got signed to epic and the producers screwed up their sounds…fags
i saw this the …
i saw this the other day, and the only word for what i was is “flabbergasted”
I saw this the …
I saw this the other day, and I had no idea what to say.
I wish it was like …
I wish it was like that though. I always sing that outback song.
