Jun 25 - The Dow and the Nasdaq put an end to three days of losses as comforting words from the Federal Reserve, lower oil prices, and earnings optimism buoyed sentiment.
The Dow gained 4 points to 11,811. The S&P 500 rose 7 points to 1,321. The Nasdaq gained 32 points to 2,401.
Crude oil fell $2.45 a barrel to settle at $134.55.

I mean lets say I own 300 shares of XYZ. XYZ gets delisted due to bankruptcy. When it re-emerges from bankruptcy and gets reinstated by nasdaq those 300 shares are still valid?
If i had 300 shares before it got delisted will i have 300 when it gets reinstated?
No. The prices will have changed, most likely downward.

What is the difference among securities listed on the NYSE and those traded through NASDAQ?
There are some trivial listing requirements differences, but they all have to have their SEC paperwork up to date. Most companies on either could qualify for the other, so it's really a choice for companies. Older companies tend to be listed on the NYSE because NASDAQ didn't exist when they were looking for an exchange listing and the NYSE makes it hard for companies to leave.
